I am a multi-disciplinary artist, mover, teacher and choreographer with technical foundations of classical ballet, Graham technique, classical Spanish Dance, Limon technique, Flamenco and world folk dances. By age 15 I was a member of the Ballet Hispanico of NewYork second company followed by a performing and touring career nationally and internationally with various companies.
After relocating to South Florida in 1994, I began teaching at the University Center for the Performing Art, where I developed a Flamenco department and founded Bailes Ferrer, a non-for-profit arts organization that focused on Flamenco music and dance, classes and the Flamenco in the Sun festival.
In 2016 I receiving my MFA in choreography, at which time my physical investigations met with language, and reinvigorated my visual art practice; using it as repository for movement ideas. By 2014 I founded Cultural Arts Exchange, which focused on presenting and supporting artistic research and process in all artistic genres, and by 2019 I centralized all my artistic work under my personal artistic platform, Movement Works.
In 2016, I became an adjunct faculty member at Florida Atlantic University, and currently I am adjunct faculty member for the department of Visual, Performing Arts at Broward College and Nova Southeastern University. I am also on the dance faculty at Dance Dimensions in Fort Lauderdale and I teach independent master classes and workshops for all levels and ages.
