  • Alejandra Palacios
    Alejandra Palacios
Visual Artist; Architect and 3D Architectural Visualizer
Alejandra Palacios Biography Alejandra chose the brush as her way of expressing her feelings through life. It allows her to combine colors and feelings to create an artwork with a sense of realism, and a peek from her perspective. Her art shows life from a completely different viewpoint; suggesting a life that many people do not see, even when standing next to her. Simply stated, she deconstructs the view that most see, and creates a fresh new energy and movement of the same landscape, with vivid colors/energy. Traditional media (oil on Canvas), she is reminded that there is more to life than tradition. She wishes the people to see outside of the box; to view a common sight in a not-so common way. Having studied styles as diverse as Sandro Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci, Van Gogh, and Marinetti as artists, she also pursued an Architectural Degree studying Ricardo Legorreta, Luis Barragan and Le Corbusier and incorporated Omquest Design Solutions. A 3D Architectural Rendering Company that has been instrumental to the Hollywood CRA or Community Redevelopment Agency in it's goal to revitalize both downtown and the beach community. Often times, these themes are combined into a medium that incorporates a layered architectural design, keeping the real image of the minds eye that most see, but showing the futuristic view that she views. The subject matter of each body of work determines the materials and the forms of the work. She has created a pattern of circles; a pattern that is reflective of the source of energy that she in visions creates the movement in her work. Thomas Edison spent his life inventing light & motion picture, inspiring her work to explore new artistic techniques and compositions to exhibit life through her eyes. As a result, she created her own style that she refers to as "Geometric Futurism Art". Allen Paul
    Musician
Allen Paul began learning the piano at the age of 3, taught by his mother, an elementary music teacher. His early years were filled with discoveries of jazz, blues, funk, gospel, and other styles.. He capped off this start by winning the Florida State Music Teachers Association Concerto Competition at age 17 and performing with the Tampa Bay Symphony. Allen continued his studies in the University of Miami classical piano program, but he soon switched to jazz piano. Never one to be limited to one style, he and his friends started an R&B band. Allen began writing songs for the band, and one of his compositions “Come My Way” was the song the band selected to play during the 1996 Mastercard National Talent Search. The band won 1st place in the Southeastern region and came in second place nationally. Later, Allen worked in church music full-time and built a reputation as a top notch gospel musician. Once he re-entered the South Florida music scene, he quickly became a sought after sideman with artists of all types and styles, and performed on stage at the Jazz in the Gardens music festival in Miami Gardens two years in a row. Artists that Allen has accompanied include Miki Howard, Betty Wright, Raheem Devaughn, Jaguar Wright, Mike Phillips, Anthony David, Algebra Blessett, Chantae Cann and many others. His jazz fusion trio “Unclazzified”, released an EP in 2014, and was featured at the Port-au-Prince International Jazz Festival in Haiti. For many years, he served as musical director for “Flow Fridays”, a weekly music and poetry event at Piano Hollywood in Fort Lauderdale, FL. , and for his own group, the Allen Paul Band, a collection of top musicians and vocalists. He is the co-founder and host artist of the summer concert series “Sit Sing and Swing” along with singer-songwriter LaVie, as well as the host and founder of “Keep The Music Playing”, a livestream acoustic concert series established in the midst of the 2020 pandemic, which gave much needed exposure and opportunities to fellow musicians and guest artists. He has been married to his wife Lia for over 24 years and has 3 children. Along with his performance career, he is a published author, podcaster, coach and advocate for musicians in the areas of business, creativity and faith. His first book, “God and Gigs: Succeed as a Musician without Sacrificing your Faith,” along with his study guides and devotionals are available at all bookstores.

    Allen Paul
    Musician
My music is designed to bridge the space between genres, emotions and cultures to find the true essence of what moves people. While my styles have been birthed out of my love for jazz, pop, R&B, gospel, blues, and classical music, I find that the sweet spot for people who listen is often labeled as "none of the above", or more appropriately, "all of the above." Therefore, I write, compose and improvise in order to deconstruct the label and reinforce the actual moment of creation and the spontaneous connection that moment creates. The same effect that I find in music is the same effect I seek in my collaborations, as nothing is more authentically musical than the interplay of like-minded and like-hearted artists. While I enjoy solo opportunities, I rarely perform without introducing or incorporating the ensemble / duet element. Only when there are interactions on the stage do I really believe there are authentic interactions in the audience, and that's why I've hung my hat on being the bridge between artist and audience - even when it means my artistic footprint is less noticeable. In each of my performances and recordings, the overall impression is to leave the listener more thoughtful, more joyous, and more connected with themselves, their fellow listeners, and the world at large - and perhaps more importantly, that the performers in the room feel and experience the same.

MISSION STATEMENT Girl Noticed is a Nationwide Mural Project, building and maintaining a world better informed about the positive impact the simple act of "Noticing" a girl has. Girl Noticed makes the bold statement that it is a community's responsibility to yield to the greatness in every girl. The aim of this program is to bring attention and awareness to the important role females play in our society. It all starts with local communities nominating girls and women as candidates to be "Noticed" for their talent, intelligence, and character. Nominations cover a wide spectrum, ranging from personal struggles to momentous achievements. An individual is then selected from the list of candidates and recognized in a unique and compelling way. The girl’s image is drawn in charcoal, along with the words "Notice Me," on a large exterior wall. The brief lifespan of these charcoal images are at the mercy of weather conditions and time. It becomes clear that the temporary mural has a permanent message. A different medium, paint, may also be used in some of the murals, and over time, these will be erased or replaced as well. For a girl unnoticed, being recognized like this is a powerful declaration on many levels. The larger objective of communicating the message behind the message is that there is a very limited window of time to "Notice" the mural, the girl and what she values most in herself. By design, this rapidly disappearing message creates a sense of urgency in a local community, and that is, to see and be impacted in an enduring way by a big and bold statement that is in contrast, short-lived and impermanent. This metaphor conveys a powerful lesson of what can happen to a girl who may never fully grow into her fullest potential if family members, mentors, friends and society don't Pause, Acknowledge and Appreciate her. Artist and Activist, Lori Pratico, plans to travel through all 50 states to erect these large exterior murals. Photographs will be taken during the creation of each mural, leading up to the eventual publication of a book about the Girls Noticed and the overall project.
