1949: born in Ashland, Kentucky, and spent the next 18 years traveling the world as an "army brat"; 1971: Graduated from the University of Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts; 1975-2000: Freelancing editorial illustration for the Washington Post where I developed my own unique collage style.
