Broward Arts & Culture Our Year In Review How Broward Cultural Division helped the county pivot through 2020. As we
As we eagerly enter the New Year, the Cultural Division reflects on the many ways we harnessed creativity to adapt and support arts and culture amidst the challenges of 2020.
Broward Cultural Division, working with local arts leaders, is distributing more than $2.5 million in additional CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economical Security) funding to nonprofit arts organizations in Broward County. The funding will help preserve jobs and support organizations forced to limit operations due to the pandemic. Grants will be distributed to existing Cultural Division grantees by December 30 and will reimburse expenses incurred prior to December 9.
Through the Broward Arts Relief Fund, Broward Cultural Division distributed $428,000 to organizations central to arts and culture in Broward County. The grants focused on preserving general operations and jobs that were at risk as a result of the pandemic.
Broward Cultural Division commissioned the new video series, Creatives in Quarantine, that invited local artists to creatively respond to life in the age of COVID. Visit our YouTube Channel to watch them.
Broward Cultural Division’s major overhaul of its grant system makes the funding process more equitable and efficient. The Division now provides grants for Artist Support, Organization Program Support, and General Operating Support throughout the year.
