In the spirit of “Miss Lou” the Council focuses on reaching the youth and anyone interested in developing their writing skills, including memoir writing, song writing, poetry writing and technical writing.
Annually, the Council presents two Writers Clinics
The Council's goal is to attract aspiring writers by working closely with various Caribbean Student Associations at several colleges in Broward County; focusing on the next generation of writers, while introducing them to the works of Louise Bennett-Coverley which speaks to the mission of the organization.
Topics are similar with different speakers and practitioners participating as guests under the leadership of acclaimed Dub Poet Malachi
