Dave Muller, Bhakti Baxter, Annie Buckley

Artists’ Reception: Fri. Nov. 14, 6 – 9 pm

Los Angeles-based artist, DJ, and record collector Dave Muller will create a mixed-media, site-specific installation that merges wall murals, large-scale paintings, three-dimensional works, and recorded music in the Center’s Main Gallery. The project includes Muller’s interactive Three Day Weekend event, which engages the community in a free exchange of art, music, and ideas.

Bhakti Baxter was born in Miami, Florida in 1979 where he currently lives and works. He has exhibited widely in the United States and internationally. The works feature sculptures Baxter made from 2011-2014 in the neighborhood of Little Haiti, Miami, where the artist has been based for the past four years.

Annie Buckley's interdisciplinary and participatory project includes original collages, a tarot deck and guidebook, two print editions, and readings. Buckley began The People’s Tarot as a means of integrating more intuition into what felt like an increasingly analytical practice.

The Project Room will be transformed into a pop-up record store by Michael Dean, who goes by the lowercase sobriquet dj yard, Miami’s legendary DJ, who spun for WBUS aka The Magic Bus, when underground radio was in its infancy in Miami.
