Girls' Club presents: Stitch 'n Bitch 'n Lit, Saturday, Feb 26, from 1-4pm. An afternoon of informal needleworking with artist Frances Trombly, plus live readings by South Florida writers.
Girls' Club invites one and all to an afternoon of stitching and bitching and art and literary inspiration with artist Frances Trombly. The exhibition Frances Trombly: Paintings is on view in Girls' Club's exhibition space - works entirely made by hand using traditional needlework techniques.
The public is invited to bring needlework projects in progress and to share and receive advice, technical assistance, inspiration, and any shared wisdom that the group will discover working together. As a special treat, Stitch 'n Bitch 'n Lit features live readings by South Florida writers organized by and including Denise Delgado, Jessica Machado, E. Parker Phillips and Yaddyra Peralta. Denise Delgado is Girls' Club's first Writer-in-Residence.
In this age, when mass production and digital media distance us from works made by hand, Stitch 'n Bitch 'n Lit is an opportunity to re-discover the pleasures of needlework in the company of others.
This event is open to adults and children of all ages. A $5 suggested donation covers complimentary refreshments.
