This educational exhibition brings reproduction of artworks by William H. Johnson (1901-1970) from the collection of the Smithsonian Museum of Art.
Regarded as one of the most influential American artists, Johnson's colorful images of children and musicians will provide a strong visual background for the children assisting summer camps at the Ali. Johnson's children's book "Li'l Sis and Uncle Willie." Through the eyes of almost six-year-old Li'l Sis, the colorful story of Uncle Willie unfolds, a story that changes forever a little girl's perception of art and the world around her. The book is based on the life of African American artists.
