Feed Your Creativity, Art to Heart

Join Us! as we learn more about how our local food produces wonderful opportunities to understand art essentials. Today at the Miramar Community Garden , we will paint our mural design on our cargo container in the garden. 

Please come prepared to be outside, wear clothing that doesn't mind paint spills and a lawn chair. Please RSVP for this event through the HandsOn Broward website. Participants: Ages 10 and up.

Celebrating producers of local agriculture, we will create art that builds and deepens community ties increasing our awareness of the importance of nourishing heart, body and soul. With the recent resurgence  of agriculture in our county, this is both timely and historically significant as this was a previously important industry that was almost eliminated due to development.

Public artist, Valerie J. Amor, is the recipient of a Community Arts Education Partnerships, CAEP grant. Intended to foster art education and strengthen community engagement, this project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts and by funding from the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council. Additionally, this project is supported by Growing Broward, a Broward County based organization promoting a sustainable local food system.
