Press Release January 12, 2018 FEATHERS… every bird is born with their own song. House of Art POP and Bachi Jewels is pleased to announce FEATHERS, an exciting new eclectic photography exhibition by Frank Polanco which will be on view at 1627 Washington Ave Miami Beach from February 9, 2018 to February 28, 2018. This exhibition features some of our own South Florida fauna. Born in Arecibo Puerto Rico, and now a resident of South Florida via New York since the early 1980’s. Frank has always had a passion for the arts. In the last few decades his artistic vision have been manifested in the world of fashion and tv industry. Today Frank is approcahing photography as a documentarian; most of his images are taken in real life situations with an unadulterated approach. Viewers are invited to participate in moments passed, moments they will never partake in as he was the only one there to witness the scene in that moment. He takes pleasure knowing that his images invite people to immerse themselves in that moment in time. His audience may be able to live in an instant he captured; an instant perhaps impossible to be replicated. Photography is a critical aspect of the society in which we live. An image has the capability of educating in all aspects of every day life. Without it we are left only with spoken and written word. The series FEATHERS is a collection of various size digital images of some of our own local fauna as they were captured by Frank right here in our own backyards. Some of the images displayed during this exhibit have been selected by the City of Oakland Park and the City of Pompano Beach, they will become Public Art as they will be used to wrap some of the city street Utlity Boxes. Proceeds from the sales will benefit Save A Sato, a non profit organization / dog shelter in Puerto Rico. Save A Sato rescues, rehabilitate, gives much love and re-home hundreds of street dogs and cats yearly. This is an organization that has been very dear to Frank for many years.
