All graduates of the Artist as Entrepreneur Institute, DBA artists have put principles learned in the workshop into practice to create their own vehicle for artistic success. This year they present CATALYST, an all-media exhibition highlighting select works from this accomplished group.

Business Needs for Artists & Performers presented by McKinley Insurance Services
This workshop will help career artists and performers understand the need as a small business owner or small proprietor. Jim Drake, president of McKinley Financial Services Inc. offers his vast experience in the insurance industry, which has included risk management positions with Metropolitan Life, PepsiCo Inc. and Price Communications Corporation, as he helps navigate myriad ways to protect yourself, your property, and your business. Learn what type of coverage you may be required to carry by states, municipalities, landlords, and mortgagees. You will also be exposed to specialized coverage for artists and performers.
Broward Cultural Division and ArtServe invites artists, arts-based business owners and creative entrepreneurs to hear writer, journalist, and visual artist, Lily Clayton Hansen speak at a closing forum for the exhibition Doing Business As…Artist Entrepreneurs, DBA 2016. The event will be held on Tuesday, June 21, from 7 to 8PM at ArtServe, 1350 East Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. This year’s Doing Business As…annual exhibition, CATALYST: Turning Ideas into Opportunity, is an all-media exhibition highlighting select works from graduates of the Artist as an Entrepreneur Institute. The reception for this exhibition will begin at 6PM; and Clayton Hansen will speak at 7PM.
