Dessaline Lives!

In honor of the liberator and first ever Emperor of Haiti, Jean-Jacques Dessalines “Dessalines Lives!”, will feature a collection of compositions that tell the fascinating story of his life. Developed by multitalented musician, Jean Caze, this event is open to audiences of all ages! This performance is designed to expose audiences to Haitian-American culture, entertain and hopefully inspire a greater appreciation for their neighbors of Haitian descent. For Broward County residents of Haitian descent will appreciate the framing of their culture in a celebratory way! “Dessaline Lives!” is made possible with support from the Broward Cultural Division.

Jean Caze trained at top music institutions is a multitalented public speaker, composer, writer, trumpeter, flugelhorn artist, conch shell player, and cultural ambassador. He is currently on tour with Grammy Award winning singer, Michael Bublé.
