Cuisines & Poetry

Every 1st Friday. For far too long the Sistrunk area has been stamped as the problem child of Fort Lauderdale and for 9 months Cuisines & Poetry has proven that to not be true. The team of Eccentrich Displays and Midtown Art Gallery has teamed up to introduce to the the area, city, and county the gift of performing arts and the power of creativity. During the event we have patrons from the outside come in, patrons from the tri-county areas, from all walks of life and we inspire them to be better people and have made a world that they would otherwise not exposed to. This once a month, 1st Friday experience allows our guest to hear poetry, music, live instrument playing, taste great food from a different culture each month, network, create and most importantly have fun and be themselves. If we are to being Celebrating the Arts of Community this would be a great venue to add because it is all about the art here and how one can use it to enhance life and change others. As Broward county Natives who organize the event we understand the importance of keeping the arts alive and being personally connected to what the county and its people need. Continuing, we have also recently partnered with the Young Professionals group of the Urban league of Broward county in order to support small business, promote positive programming, and to ignite unity through the arts. So every month as we open up ears, minds, and taste buds we also aim to open up hearts and our hope is that everyone who enters our doors leaves being inspired to be a better person, artist in their own right, and a contributor to their surrounding communities.
