Cannonball Jazz Series: Cannonball Birthday Jazz Concert

September 15, 1928 was the birth date of local son, Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, a world renowned jazz alto saxophonist of the hard bop era of the 1950s and 1960s. We at the old Dillard Museum celebrate his birthday in splendid fashion with a concert to honor his legend as a former teacher and band leader at Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale. Dillard School for the Performing Arts, current band director, Christopher Dorsey will headline a performance of jazz standards for your musical pleasure.
