    The Seminole Indian name of this 138.6-acre urban park, Topeekeegee Yugnee, means “meeting or gathering place,” appropriate for a park known for its shady picnic areas, many shelters, and a gazebo that is often booked for small weddings and receptions.T.Y. Park is home to Castaway Island water park, a full-hookup RV campground with Wi-Fi, 13 picnic shelters, an abundance of open picnic areas, and a large, open field suitable for a variety of family activities. Especially popular with our health-conscious patrons is the two-mile loop of paved pathways for walking, jogging, skating, and biking. Join our walking club and register your miles to earn incentives. Other popular areas within the park are the large shaded playground, basketball and tennis courts, the fishing pier, and the scenic lake water fountain.

    La casa TACONEANDO, en el corazón de San Telmo donde nació el tango, en un espacio íntimo, ofrece un espectáculo de tango recorriendo la historia del tango desde los compadritosdel viejo arrabal hasta el tango moderno de Astor Piazzolla. El 14 de Febrero de 1931 la orquesta de Pedro Mafia, con versos de Horacio Staffolani, estrenó en el Teatro San Martín un tango que iba a convertirse en un clásico: Taconeando, un tango milonga, fuertemente rítmico, especial para bailarlo. Pasaron los años… y el tango tuvo su renacer en San Telmo. El 15 de agosto de 1979, Beba Bidart inauguraba “Taconeando”, su coqueto local, haciendo de él un reducto de tangueros y amantes de esta bella y sensual música. Traía una novedad: además del espectáculo artístico, la posibilidad de que el público bailara. “Taconeando” es ya un clásico en la noche porteña, uno de los locales más típicos de Buenos Aires, un lugar donde la música, la danza y el canto brillan con luces propias.

    Temple Beth El opened its doors in 1957 when its first service was held in a meeting room of the Hollywood Beach Hotel. At that time, the congregation boasted approximately 2 dozen families, all of whom had a vision - a traditional reform synagogue in the heart of Hollywood. Through the generosity and dedication of several of these families, Temple Beth El became a reality and grew into a focal point of Reform Judaism in southern Broward County.

    In March 1996 a dream became realized when the Reform Congregation of Weston became incorporated with Rabbi Norman Lipson as founding Rabbi and Scott Pestcoe as first President. The synagogue began its rapid and unprecedented growth from its beginning with eight families to today, twelve years later, with approximately 665 families. Many events are held in honor of these families, the community, and its visitors.
