How can “The Nutcracker,” a holiday tradition usually performed to Tchaikovsky’s effusive, classical score be best represented by a young company that embraces many forms of dance? We wondered. Looking for answers, we discovered gorgeous interpretations of the beloved classical music by Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and Pentatonix. With beautiful new costumes, and an expanded dance palate, Meg Segreto's Perpetual Motion Dance company has recreated our holiday present for the public.
