In the Swim

Please join the Hollywood Historical Society for In the Swim, a presentation by author and historian Patsy West. The event will be held at the beautifully renovated Hollywood Women’s Club, 501 N. 14th Ave., Hollywood, FL, 33020, on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $15 for non-members; $10 for Hollywood Historical Society members.

Ms. West will give a slide presentation about her extensive research into the history of American swimwear, from bloomers to Brazilian thongs. Several vintage swimsuits from her personal collection will be on display in stark contrast to today’s “barely there” bathing suits.

This is a lighthearted look at a part of history near and dear (or dreaded) by all Floridians! You will be grateful that the days of head to toe coverage and woolen swimsuits have long passed.
