THE WIZARD OF OZ
Following a violent tornado, Dorothy and her dog, Todo, are transported to the land of the Munchkins. Frightened and tired, Dorothy is tormented by the Wicked Witches of the East and West. She is relieved when Glenda, the beautiful Witch of the North, intervenes with the news that a house has fallen on the Wicked Witch of the East thereby setting free the local Munchkins and Villagers. Tiny chickens keep wandering away causing alarm for the Red Rooster and Little Hen. Dorothy is astonished when she meets a Scarecrow who cries as he has no brain, a Tin Man who has no heart and a Lion who confesses to cowardice. They make their way down the yellow brick road to Emerald City in search of the Wizard of Oz. The awful winged Monkeys intervene and petrify Dorothy and her new friends. But, all’s well that ends well, Dorothy returns to her home in Kansas and lived happily ever after!
The Munchkins’ group was choreographed and rehearsed by Miss Shaina Kaim and the ‘Monkeys’ choreographed for the Senior IDA Jazz Class by Mr. Rolly Villaverde.
The role of Dorothy is danced by Amanda Evens.

Music “A Whale’s Lament” composed by Greg Buttner
Dance choreographed by Mary Buttner and Deborah Buttner
Ballet and music speak to the soul; through this original full length ballet we have the opportunity to use that speech on behalf of some of our world’s loveliest creatures. There is joy, yet there is great sorrow. Featured in the story, and music composed by Greg Buttner, is a hint of life in the ocean which will enchant you while giving voice to the plight of the whales and God’s other sea creatures, slaughtered needlessly and needing our protection. The dance depicts the capture and death of a magnificent whale, to the evocative music of Buttner’s “Whale’s Lament.”
Born in South Africa, composer Greg Buttner is perhaps predisposed to the understanding of wildlife and his commitment to its protection. He dedicated “Whale’s Lament” to the work of Sea Shepherds Conservation Society, whose mission it is to “end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.”
Written by Nancy Biese
“Whales’s Lament” is performed by Imprints, with Greg Buttner on guitar, Erdis Maxhelaku on Cello and Marta Zludova on Violin and Viola.
The Whale is danced by Sofia Rose Peetoom.
SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS
“Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of us all?” Shocked by the reply that Snow White was the fairest of them all, the evil Stepmother calls her Huntsman and commands him to abandon Snow White in the woods. As night falls she is petrified by skeletons and bats. At daybreak Snow White is awakened by a bird and the fluttering of gorgeous butterflies as she is introduced to the Queen of the Forest and her Fairies. She is soon happily dancing with all her beautiful Woodland Friends.
Much to their surprise, a group of Dwarfs returning from a day’s work in the diamond mine, finds the beautiful Snow White and her Woodland Friends. They are soon enchanted with her and vow to protect her from the evil witch!
The stepmother, disguised as an old lady, enters the forest and befriends the innocent Snow White, giving her a juicy red apple. Despite warnings from her friends, Snow White takes a bite of the apple and sinks into a deep sleep.
Prince Charming enters the forest, kisses the beautiful Snow White on the hand; she awakens and they all live happily ever after!
The Fairies dance to ‘Bardo;’ music composed by Greg Buttner, performed by Imprints. “Bardo” recently won the Akademia Music Award for best instrumental in Los Angeles.
The role of Snow White is danced by Dalia Bechard.
