Broward County’s Got Talent! Annual “Musicthon”

Hundreds of music students from over 20 local studios perform recitals to raise funds for the Broward County Music Teachers Association at this FREE event which is open to the public.  A portion of the proceeds also go to benefit this year’s chosen local charity – 4Kids of South Florida, a Foster Care Agency dedicated to finding a home for every child in crisis.
 
     For over 14 years, the Broward County Music Teachers Association (“BCMTA”) has held its annual “Musicthon” to raise awareness and operating funds for the organization.  Students of all ages and levels will be performing their best pieces in front of Dillards at the Galleria Mall.  Students collect donations from friends and family in support of their mall appearance and proceeds are shared with a local charity.  This year BCMTA has chosen 4KIDS of South Florida – a non-profit organization committed to providing a home for every child in crisis. Through a partnership of committed individuals, churches, corporations, and government agencies, 4KIDS has brought HOPE to over 17,000 children in 15 years.  The beautiful piano used for this event is generously sponsored by Piano Showcase, Inc. of Fort Lauderdale.
 
     Over 100 music students will delight mall-goers with their performances during the three days of Musicthon representing studios of 22 local music teachers.   By participating in this fun program, students not only get to perform in front of the mall crowds, but also know that their fundraising efforts are helping two professional non-profit organizations. As an organization, BCMTA is dedicated to promoting the growth and professional development of its members by providing educational resources that encourage the highest level of teaching, performance, and study of the art of music. BCMTA also provides student scholarships and competitive activities.
