Beyond the Mirror: 2019 Spring Concert Program at Broward Center for the Performing Arts

What lies Beyond the Mirror? Through their 2019 spring concert program, the Girl Choir of South Florida seeks to explore the deeper truth behind what we see reflected back at us.

Pieces like “Reflection” from Mulan and “No Mirrors in My Nana’s House” by Ysaya M. Barnwell help us to reflect on our own individual experience with the way the world sees us and the way we see ourselves. “Letter from a Girl to the World” by Andrea Ramsey and “We Are the Voices” by Jim Papoulis explores the way we serve as a mirror for society, seeing and shaping the world around us.

The Girl Choir of South Florida will be hosting two performances of this program. The first, an intimate performance featuring Lyric, Concert, and Chamber choirs, will be at All Saints Episcopal Church on Sunday, May 5th at 5:00p. The second, featuring all ensembles, will be held at the Broward Center’s Amaturo Theater on Friday, May 10th at 7:30p.
