Transform plain fabric into richly patterned original textiles using modified versions of Batik and Sun-Printing under the guidance of fiber artist Andrea Huffman! Transparent pigments and wax will be applied to white and black cotton fabrics to create patterns and designs for layering with a variety of paint techniques. Participants will also experiment with textured surfaces and textile paints to create prints on silk fabric. Additionally, fabrics will be further embellished with stamps, stencils, fabric markers, and texture rubbings to develop layers of design and patterns. A $15 material fee is included in the workshop price provides all fabrics, textile paints, wax and all other media.
