WAM Film Discussion Series

Presented by World AIDS Museum at World AIDS Museum

Join us for our November Film Discussion Series featuring short clips of the 2012 documentary United in Anger: A History of ACT UP. Directed by Jim Hubbard, the documentary shows the beginning and progress of the AIDS activist movement from the perspective of the people fighting the epidemic. Archival footage with oral histories of members of ACT UP depicts the history of civil disobedience against corporate greed, social indifference and government negligence in the face of AIDS. Several clips will be played and followed by an audience discussion on the ideas and implications of the scenes and the film’s impact. Audience members do not need to have seen the film beforehand to participate in the discussion.
