OVERVIEW

Have you dreamed or wondered what it would be like to show your work in a Museum? Then this is the event for you! This event/exhibition is an opportunity for all artist to showcase their work in a museum setting with the opportunity to support the museum and/or sell your work. This is the CSMoA's first Empty Walls 6x6 exhibition and Fundraiser. All proceeds support Arts programming for all ages and will help us continue to offer free admission. Join the Fun and Help Us EMPTY OUR WALLS!

  • FREE for Active Museum Members +  Contributing Artist
  • $5 for Non Museum Member

SCHEDULE: Saturday August 13, 2022 5:30 - 8:30pm

  • Active member VIP only - 5:30 - 6:30
  • Everyone - 6:30 - 8:30

Lite Bites, Music, Cash Bar + Exhibit & Sale

SALE: The artwork will be sold at multiple times during the event.

ROUND 1 - MEMBER VIP LOTTERY:  Active Museum Members will have the opportunity to shop first before the general public during the member preview. Only 3 lucky members will be selected from a drawing to shop before anyone else. Winners can only purchase 3 pieces at regular price. You will have 5 minutes to shop

ROUND 2 - BUY NOW:  All guests will have the opportunity to put their name in a lottery to be selected to purchase pieces. You must pay $25 to have your name in this lottery. 5 winners will be drawn and you can purchase 3 items.  You will have 5 minutes to shop

ROUNDS 3-6 LOTTERY STYLE:  All guests will be given a colored bracelet as they enter the event. Following Rounds 1 & 2 we will draw to see which braclet color gets to begin their shop. There will be 4 color rounds each round will have 5 minutes to shop.

FINAL ROUND: After all the rounds are complete the there will be the last shop. Everyone can take one final glance to see and make their last purchase. After the event Artist may take back their work or leave as a donation to the musuem.

PROCEEDS: 

We hope to showcase 250+ pieces of art at the museum with a goal to make $25,000 to celebrate our 25th Anniversary.

  • All proceeds help support the musuem programs and free admission.
  • Artists have the option of retaining 50% of their sales.
  • If Artist choose to donate all their proceeds please know they are tax deductible.
  • All artists wishing to receiving sales money will need to submit a W-9 and will be paid by mail within 30 days after the event. Minors will need parent/guardian to provide W-9 information.

SUBMISSION GUIDLINES: 

AMOUNT:

Artists may submit up to 10 pieces of artwork. (Depending on the amount received we may have to edit the number of pieces displayed; we will contact you in the event we can't show all your work

ONE SIZE ONLY:

6 INCHES X 6 INCHES X 1.5 INCHES DEEP ON CANVAS OR CRADLE BOARD OR, if your art is on paper (watercolor, pen and ink, pastel, etc.), you can frame your art as long as the outer frame is no larger than 6 INCHES X 6 INCHES and is ready to hang.

  • Canvas/Cradles can be purchased at Michaels, Amazon, Dick Blick, etc. They run around $2.00 each
  1. All artwork must be original in interpretation and composition.
  2. CSMoA reserves the right to reject artwork that is deemed inappropriate or unsafe.
  3. Artists agree that CSMoA can use images of their artwork for event promotions.
  4. Although we will treat your art as gently as possible, CSMoA is not responsible for any damaged art.
  5. NO hanging devices, hooks, or cables on the back of canvases or cradle boards. Cable or hanging strip is needed for framed art.
  6. All artwork needs to have the artist’s name, title, and email address on the back bottom right of the artwork.
  7. 3D pieces cannot exceed 6 INCHES X 6 INCHES X 4 INCHES TOTAL DIMENSION.
  8. No wet paint or unsealed pastels/charcoals.
  9. Any medium that can meet these guidelines is acceptable (fused glass, prints, fiber art, charcoal, pastels, paint, photography, collage, etc.
  10. Artists may submit pieces as part of a series; however, each piece must work as a stand-alone as buyers are free to choose which pieces to buy. We cannot promise that a full series will be purchased.

DATES & DEADLINES: 

In Person Delivery and/or Receipt of Shipped Work:

  • Collection begins May 2, 2022 - June 24, 2022
    • M,F, S 9am-4:30pm and T, W, TH 9am-7pm
  • Artist Notification: In the event we have too much work by June 28, 2022
  • Pre-paid Artwork Return and In-Person Pick-Up: June 20-22, 2022 during business hours. All shipped artwork must come with a prepaid return shipping label if you want it returned if it doesn't sell.  

ELIGIBILITY:

The exhibition is open to artists:

Youth/Teen ages 7 - 17

Adult ages 18 and Up

 

SHIPPING/DELIVERY OF ARTWORK:

The artist is responsible for the cost of shipping or mailing artwork to and from The Coral Springs Museum of Art using UPS, Fed-X or DHL. A return shipping label and return postage must be included with the artwork. Artwork may also be hand-delivered to and picked up from The Coral Springs Museum of Art on the appropriate dates during the scheduled times.

MEDIA/PUBLIC RELATIONS: 

The Coral Springs Museum Art reserves the right to use digital images of exhibited artwork for media, website, PR and advertising.
