STEAM Saturdays!

Join us every first Saturday of the month as the South Florida Chamber Ensemble (SFCE) teams up with Young At Art Museum (YAA) for dynamic STEAM workshops. Discover new and exciting themes each month, blending science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics for an engaging and educational experience!

November 4 – Pie and Pi: Celebrate Thanksgiving and fractions by creating your own pie and using it to solve factions.

December 2 – Jingle all the Way: Learn about magnetism using jingle bells and liquids. Then create a reindeer balloon and race against your peers.

January 6 – Ring in the New Year Japanese style: Make origami, learn about rigidity by making taiko drums using tape, draw Japanese kanji, make your own emoji and celebrate the new year by ringing the Joya-no-Kane, the Temples Bell for good luck.

February 3 – (I love you) To the Moon and back: Learn about gravity and force by making straw space shuttles and then make a space shuttle to scale using math and science.

March 2 – The Luck of the Irish: The modern submarine was invented in Ireland. Do buoyancy experiments about what sinks or floats and explore the Celtic invention of soap and its properties.

April 6 – Eggstravaganza: Learn about dissolution and solvents as we use various liquids to dissolve jelly beans. Also includes density experiments with eggs.

May 4 – May the Force be With You: Celebrate Star Wars Day with this program featuring experiments based on Newton’s Laws. Come in your favorite Star Wars costume.
