Franklin Park

Nature

Franklin Park is open year round for outdoor fun and beachgoers. Hours: Year-round Monday-Friday 10:00am-9:00pm, Saturday 8:00am-6:00pm, Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm (Hours will be extended on Fridays and Saturdays until 10 p.m. if there is a rental.) Price: Admission is charged to enter regional parks on weekends and holidays only. $1.50/person (ages 6 and up), $8 maximum charge per car or van (nine occupants or fewer), $20 maximum charge per commercial/school bus.

Fruit and Spice Park

The Fruit & Spice Park is the only tropical botanical garden of its kind in the United States. The unique 35-acre public facility is owned and operated by the Miami-Dade County Park and Recreation Department. Located in South Florida. The Park's tropical climate can be found nowhere else in the continental U.S. and hosts over 500 varieties of fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, and nuts, and other commercially important plant specimens from around the world. The Park showcases 125 varieties of mango, 75 varieties of bananas, 70 bamboo varieties, and numerous other exotic edibles. Visitors are invited to munch at a tasting counter inside the Park Store.

Funding Arts Broward

Special Events

Known as FAB!, this is a non-profit arts organization committed to preserving and cultivating the arts in Broward County, Florida. It was formed in response to the need for private financial support following drastic government budget cuts in the arts. A competitive process awards a myriad of yearly grants to worthy nonprofit visual and performing arts organizations that present high quality programs in Broward County. This is a participatory system run by the members and events are held to assist in increasing the funds to award.

The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of South Florida (GLCCSF) serves the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender community. It provides information, education, advocacy, support, human services, cultural experiences and social opportunities. Gryphon

Music

Inspired by the mythological creature that symbolizes the domination of both the earth and sky, the Gryphon's interior is both dynamic and chic. The Gryphon's architecture combines stylish, innovative and modern design elements, highlighted by a dramatic ceiling installation. Lavish banquettes surround the European-style recessed dance floor, providing ideal seating for bottle or cocktail service from the two bars. The elevated VIP room, which can also be booked for private functions, is separated from the main room by a hedge colonnade inspired by Cirque du Soleil. Several openings in the colonnade allow VIP patrons to survey the room below them where intricate lights, stunning fabrics and elaborate stage sets blend together to ensure a seamless sense of fantasy and escape.
