Art for a Black Utopia: Call To Artists, Performers and Filmmakers-

Art for a Black Utopia: Call To Artists, Performers and Filmmakers-

Presented by 1310 Gallery - Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts at 1310 Gallery

The 4th Annual Juneteenth for Joy festival seeks art that reflects a vision for a world that works for everyone. Submit art that is inspired by an ideal future, not in response to any trauma, but with the full magical abandon of your heart's imagination. Think Afro-Bubblegum, Essence, Ebony + Jet, Wakanda and the Proud Family. We're holding space for the next Issa Rae, knowing that Jidenna, Lil Yachty and Esperanza Spalding mindsets are invited, along with the self-love of Tracee Ellis Ross and the ride-or-die of Ice Cube. Black health, Black wealth and Black joy are the vibe.

Submit images of your best work to juneteenthforjoy@gmail.com before Friday, May 26, 2023 for consideration.

We'll have a special installation dedicated to reimagining historic Black neighborhoods with unlimited possibility. A portion of this installation was made possible with support from these Community Foundation of Broward funds: the Helen and Frank Stoykov Charitable Endowment, Louise and Rudi Dill Charitable Fund, and the Mary and Alex Mackenzie Community Impact Fund.
