This exhibit explores the positive impact that a person recovering from mental illnesses can experience through art and its impact on contemporary art.
NAEMI Art Selection features the work of Luis Manuel Otero Alcantara, Gary Brewer, Jorge Alberto Cadi (El Buzo), Adriam Horta, Misleidys Castillo Pedroso, Roger Sadler, Milton Schwartz, Damian Valdes, and Robert Wright.
This exhibition will run from May 1 - May 31, 2023.
The Opening Reception for NAEMI Art Selection will take place on May 2, 2023 from 6:00 - 7:30PM.
About NAEMI
National Art Exhibition by the Mentally Ill (NAEMI) is a non-profit organization established in South Florida. It was founded by Juan Martin, the current Executive Director, which aims are dedicated to discovering, studying, promoting, exhibiting, and preserving the art of those struggling with mental illnesses throughout the world. NAEMI has done pioneering work during this past 34 years in recognizing the artistic talent of individuals recovering from mental illnesses and providing a forum for bringing these talents to public awareness. NAEMI has a collection of over 1200 art works from all over the USA, Spain, Cuba, England, Argentina, Paraguay, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile.
