The Final Act concert
Some of the most celebrated music in opera occurs during the final acts: “The Rigoletto Quartet,” “Colline’s Aria” in La bohème, “Nessun dorma” in Turandot or “E lucevan le stelle” from Tosca. Was it the composer’s intention to place that tune towards the end of the opera? Did it enhance the storytelling or was it designed purely to keep the audience’s attention? Join us for this installment of SongFest to hear some of your favorites.
