The Association of Performing Arts of India celebrates its 25th Anniversary with “Incarnations of Lord Vishnu”, an Indian classical dance performance rooted in profound spirituality. South Florida based community dancers and their senior students will present this classic story with powerful mime and animation, traditional costumes and spectacular lighting.
The Supreme Lord Vishnu is said to descend in the form of an avatar to restore cosmic order. The incarnations are the avatars of Lord Vishnu. The most commonly accepted incarnations listed in the Indian Puranas (scriptures) include Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki. All avatars have appeared except one -- Kalki, who it is believed will appear at the end of the Kali Yuga, "the age of darkness" or "the age of quarrel and hypocrisy.”
Immerse yourself in the extraordinary power and grace of Lord Vishnu's story, music, and dance.
