39th Annual Southeast Florida Scottish Festival & Highland Games

Presented by Scottish American Society of South Florida, Inc. at Plantation Heritage Park

You’re invited to celebrate Scottish Heritage at the 39th Annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games, presented by the Scottish American Society of South Florida [SASSF] on Saturday, March 4th, 2023.   Highlights include massed bagpipe bands, Scottish heavy athletics, highland dancing, Scottish clans and societies, Celtic rock & traditional music, pipe and drum competitions, children’s games, broadsword demos, living history encampments, sheepherding demos, Scottish food, drink, and merchandise.  Live music performances feature Alabannach - bare-knuckled pipes and drums, Steel City Rovers, Dunedin City Pipe Band, Blue Skye Pipes & Drums, and more!

Heritage Park is located west of Ft. Lauderdale at: 1100 S. Fig Tree Lane (W 63rd Ave) - North of the I595 on Peters Rd. between SR441 and University Drive.  Festival hours are 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM., rain or shine.    Tickets coming soon!

Love the music?  Come to the Friday Night Ceilidh Concert on March 3, 2023 for extra helpings of the Festival Headline Performers!  Details TBA.

Don't miss the Welcome Ceremony at noon on the Main Field with the Parade of Clans and Massed Pipe Bands!  Scottish heavy athletic competition for adults [men & women] and youth age 14-17 [girls & boys] begin promptly at 9am, as does the individual piping and drumming competitions.   The Pipe Band competitions take place in the afternoon.    Children's Games occur all day until 5 pm, including children's caber, stone, & sheaf toss, foot and sack races, coloring Scottish scenes, try-on kilts, and more.    Ongoing activities include:  42nd Highland Regiment Encampment, weaving demos, Scottish Clans & Societies Village, Realms of History Medieval encampment with armed combat demos.    Music & dance performances, and historical talks  throughout the day at the Main, Heritage, and Dance Stages!   The Closing Ceremony with massed pipe bands, presentation of trophies, and prize drawings occur at 5 pm.  The festival closes out with a final performance of our headlining act, Albannach!
