Arts Mean Business Speaker Series Presents Lecture and Meet & Greet with Post-Graffiti Artist SURGE

Presented by Business for the Arts of Broward at Pipeline Fort Lauderdale

Business for the Arts Broward’s (BFA) Arts Mean Business Speaker Series (AMB) kicks off the fall season with a live presentation, meet & greet and cocktail hour with post-graffiti artist Sergio Quinonez (aka SURGE) on Tuesday, September 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Pipeline Fort Lauderdale, 100 SE 3rd Ave. (10th Floor).

Presented by the Community Foundation of Broward James and Cathy Donnelly Family Fund and the Castle Group, the Arts Mean Business Speaker Series is free and open to the public. There is a $5 flat rate charge for guests who wish to park at the venue. Guests who wish to attend may visit https://bit.ly/3Cb40rc for more information or email their RSVP to rvegas@bfabroward.org by Sunday, September 18

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Miami, SURGE was surrounded by vibrant grafitti and outdoor murals that fostered his profound appreciation for urban art at a young age. His background has a big impact on his art style today, which is often described as bold and unmistakable. SURGE has combined cartoons, bright colors and hip-hop culture to create a distinctive artistic identity that brings animate and inanimate objects to life with an assertive, yet playful, personality. His work can be seen in the iconic Wynwood Arts District in Miami and with world-renowned brands like Nike, Adidas, Pepsi, Jameson Whiskey, Microsoft, Bloomingdale’s, Verizon, Bose, Budweiser, the NBA, local professional sports teams (Miami Dolphins and Miami Marlins) and many more.

AMB is just one of several ways BFA supports local artists while fostering cultural vitality, creative success and economic development. BFA continuously supports the local arts community and promotes local artists, cultural non-profits and diverse art-related projects. BFA annually hosts several events in addition to AMB, including Art in the Workplace, Art Curation, Public Art Creation, Art & Somm and Art +Stroll.
