Julie Orsini Shakher is a recipient of the Broward Cultural Artist Support Grant.The grant supports new works by the artist.
The exhibition titled the “Magical Forest" , the body of these works thematically will represent a landscape of the environment and the chain of life that exists. From the microscopic to Crustacean through to humanity and threats of animal and human extinction. Her series of works will encompass nature. The flora fauna, Magical Forest will reflect on the co-existence and sub existence of several species. With size and intricate and elaborate panels, in awe you will walk away feeling the fragility of existence.
Her media selected is Oil Paint and Metal point for this project. Metal point media is a primitive and ancient form of expression. Silverpoint emerged as a fine line drawing technique in the late Gothic/early Renaissance era. The media will be done using various metals copper, aluminum, silver point as well as traditional painting.
