Harmonious HumaNature Photography by Ken Weissblum

Presented by ArtServe at ArtServe

Ken Weissblum’s photographic work attempts to expose audiences to new visual experiences, focusing on graphical elements, shapes, textures, light, and shadows.

His award-winning work has appeared internationally in solo and group shows, galleries and museums, numerous photography magazines and other publications, photography websites, and private collections.

On view from July 14th through September 23rd, Weissblum's photographic collection Harmonious HumaNature examines the structure of life and man’s necessity to be in unity with our natural environment.

Man and plants are transient. Photography allows the capture of a point in time in the existence of man and nature. Just as a leaf of a plant is ephemeral, so is a movement in dance. Peak luminous moments can be captured in the dancers (who served as models), as well as in the plants and the variations in both can be examined. Shapes of nature that echo in man are explored.

Mankind depends on nature. Yet man has demanded that nature adjusts to him rather than adapt to it. This relationship is explored through the blending of the sensual and organic shapes of plants and nudes. These images seek to harmonize man with nature.
