NSU Art Museum is partnering with various community organizations including the Frank C. Ortis Gallery to host a variety of workshops as part of the Community Voices Series, NSU Art Museum’s new initiative supported by the Community Foundation of Broward, that focuses on exploring social and racial inequalities and challenging social structures, including representation in museums.

This workshop, led by artist Alonzo Williams, includes a dance class and discussion based on anti-racism and racial reconciliation with interaction with one of the characters from T.H.U.G. In this performance, Williams comments on the unstable relationship and history of colonization between the United States and Latin America, through dance, spoken word, and photography. Williams seeks to support black and brown communities by providing a platform for others to hear their stories to create a movement towards policy changes that affect the community of South Florida.
