Melodious Sound of Santoor (100 strings) and Tabla

     Pt. Nandkishor Muley is an adjunct professor at Stetson University and the University of Central Florida, Orlando. The third generation of musicians in his family, he started his musical training under guidance of his father and uncle. As one of the most senior disciples of Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, the Santoor supremo, Nanduji benefited tremendously from a close rapport with his guru.  He is one of the rare musical personalities who has mastered all three aspects -- vocal, instrumental and dance -- of Indian classical performing Arts.  He has evolved a style of his own. Nanduji has been received the German Grammy Award, the famous “Surmani” award, and the Excellent Art and Cultural Educator award, just to name a few.

 

     Rajesh Bhandari started studying tabla at the age of 9 at the East Indian Music Academy in New York, instructed by Pt. Ravideen Ramsamoojji, where he studied tabla, harmonium, and Indian vocal. For the last 10 years, Rajesh has also studied tabla with Ustad Zakir Hussain. He has accompanied Mitali Banerjee Bhawmik (Vocal), Utsav Lal (Piano), and Ustad Irshad Khan (Sitar), all of whom have performed for APAI. Rajesh has had the privilege of accompanying artists performing several styles of Indian music, including devotional, romantic, folk, semi-classical, and classical.  Those artists have included Ganashyam Joshi, Nirmal Ulhas, Kadri Kipriya, Rajkumar Rizvi, and many more.
