“Obstruction Immersion” is an immersive installation by KX2 (Ruth Avra & Dana Kleinman) sponsored by the Broward County Cultural Division.
"Obstruction Immersion" is an immersive installation by collaborative artists/sisters KX2. The exhibition of sculptural works incorporates repurposed/recycled materials and sound, that while aesthetically pleasing, are critiques on normative behavior of indifference. The artwork aims to raise an awareness of our dependence on the vast and hidden networks of utility pipes in our modern world. Drainage pipes clogged with plastic bags, industrial sludge and human debris are common sites in our communities. This installation was graciously funded by an Individual Artist Grant from the Broward County Cultural Division and will be open to the public daily during Ft Lauderdale Art and Design Week.
An opening party will be held in coordination with Ft Lauderdale Art and Design Week, Monday 1/24 6-9pm. Additional thanks to the Kimpton Goodland Hotel for hosting.
