Shifting Lines:
Luis Garcia-Nerey explores the narrative of cyclical patterns that recur through time and place, while also questioning the biases created by the real and artificial borders that are inevitably present in everyday life. The subtext of his work references social issues that our communities continually struggle with, including economics, gentrification, immigration, displacement, and race. He constructs environments that meditate on the connections and separations formed between home, community and development.
