Portrait Sculpture Workshop with Leda Almar
October 23 | 9:30am - 4:30pm
In this workshop, students will learn the basic methods of sculpting and modeling a figure, head, and bust. They will become knowledgeable with the materials, process, and tools required to successfully develop their figure from concept to completion. The sculpture will be painted and fired during the workshop and ready for pick up one week later. A $20 material fee is included in workshop price. Please bring a snack and/or lunch.
Schedule:
– 1 hour drawing class, where students will sketch to develop an understanding of the proportions of the head and bust.
– 3 hours of modeling and sculpting: Learn how to transform geometric shapes into facial features through an understanding of anatomy. Our characters and their stories will come to life. Students will have the chance to add their own details such as hair, hats, scarfs, and other elements that will make their piece unique.
– 1 hour to paint, design and learn about underglazes, how to use and apply them.
