Passed by Congress in 2010, House Resolution 275 designates the week beginning with the second Sunday in September as National Arts in Education Week. During this week, the field of arts education joins together in communities across the country to tell the story of the impact of the transformative power of the arts in education. In celebration of this joyous occasion, The City of Pembroke Pines is proud to offer a diverse collection of virtual art programming.

Paper Marbling Techniques: Virtual Papercraft Workshop (September 13th)

The City of Pembroke Pines and The City of Pembroke Pines Art and Cultural Center are pleased to host Paper Marbling Techniques: A Virtual Papercraft Workshop. In this kick-off event, resident art instructor Annette Fernandez will guide you through a step-by-step demonstration of papercraft techniques and practices. Social Sculpture with Veronica Fazzio: Solo Performance (September 14th)

As we continue to celebrate National Arts in Education Week, The City of Pembroke Pines and The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery present Social Sculpture: An Introduction to Performance Art. Delve into the fascinating world of performance art in this virtual artist talk series by Argentinian performance artist and sculptor Veronica Fazzio. Designed for adult learners, the four-part series introduces the medium of performance art, and shares examples of participatory and family performance art by the artist. Fazzio works with her non-human colleague (the camera) in a collaboration and is interested in memories, everyday actions, and post-human theories.
