Join us at this site-specific exhibition showcasing a custom furniture installation along with a series of maze tables and floor graphics.
Join us for the launch of MAD Arts’s next exhibition, “Parlor Games for Summoning the Devil” by Philip Lique. The site-specific exhibition will showcase a custom furniture installation along with a series of maze tables and floor graphics and will open on June 18th at MAD Art’s Bad Space II Gallery from 1pm-5pm. The art installation will run from June 18th until the end of summer during MAD’s regular business operating hours between 10 am - 6 pm, Monday- Friday and by appointment only on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.
Parlor Games for Summoning the Devil is a mixed-media installation where history, myth, and magic come together. With his skilled craft, Miami artist Philip Lique utilizes table mazes, custom furniture, synthetic materials, and traditional modes of artmaking and craft to create a vortex - a location where the past and present collide with the arcane. The artist invites viewers to experience a space reminiscent of a 17th-century parlor room. Enthused spectators can sit and be entertained taking turns engaging with objects which may summon the unknown.
