Students will learn about creating motifs and repeat patterns, and will carve their own designs onto linoleum blocks.
The traditional method of block printing textiles is finding new life in contemporary art and design, giving fabrics a tactile, handmade look. Participants will learn about creating motifs and repeat patterns and will carve their own designs onto linoleum blocks through step by step instructions. The workshop will conclude with proofing blocks and a fabric printing demonstration.
The fabric printing demonstration will highlight DIY at-home printing techniques. While there may not be enough time in the workshop to print, each participant will have access to the fabric printing demo video to re-visit when they’re ready to follow along.
This workshop is priced at a “pay as you can” rate. The suggested price for this workshop is $40 but you are welcome to pay less if you need and more if you can. Thank you for your support!
