Program 4 of the South Florida Chamber Ensemble's 10th Anniversary Season America, made possible by a grant from PNC ArtsAlive, The Underground Railroad, explores African American spirituals that were used as directions on the railroad, pieces by conductors on the railroad and music inspired by the escapees. Music by Charles Ives, Margaret Bonds, Gottschalk, Henry Clay Work, George F Root, and more. This concert is in partnership with our Emerging Artist Coalition visual artist Edward Taylor, who was recently released from prison after serving more that 30 years for a crime he did not commit. The February 13 concert takes place at the Miramar Cultural Center and the February 21 concert takes places at the Deerfield Beach Historical Society and Cultural Center.
