Join us on Tuesday, January 5, 2020 at 6:30 pm for a ZOOM conversation with Afrolatinx Interdisciplinary Artist Felicita Felli Maynard. Presented in conversation with SNMA Executive Director Hunter O’Hanian, Mx. Maynard will discuss “Ole Dandy, The Tribute,” an introspective into the imagined lives of male impersonators/drag kings Jean Loren Feliz and Angelo Lwazi Owenzayo during the early 1900's in NYC.

About Felicita Maynard

Felicita Felli Maynard (pronouns they/them) is a NYC based first generation Afrolatinx interdisciplinary artist and educator. They received their BFA from Brooklyn College, with a concentration in photography. Maynard focuses on topics such as spiritualities from the African Diaspora, gentrification in NYC, reimagining the Western historical canon when related to Black bodies and investigating Black Queer identity. Maynard has shown work at the African American Museum in Philadelphia, Pen + Brush Gallery, Flux Factory and Westchester Community College.  Maynard is currently a Smack Mellon Art Ready mentor and a teaching assistant at the Penumbra Foundation.
