Skeleton Puppet Workshop

Presented by The Puppet Guild of South Florida, Inc at Broward Center for the Performing Arts

FREE Skeleton Puppet Workshop
Friday October 9th 6:30-8pm
In partnership with the Puppet Guild of South Florida and thanks to the Broward cultural division, for our 11th year, we present our free Skeleton Puppet Workshop! This year (as with everything) will be different.
You and your family can join us at the beautiful New River Room at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and create your own foot tall rod puppet and design to prepare you on how to build a giant puppet for next year’s skeleton processional. This Fun and Free workshop is taught by puppet arts professionals Ronni Gerstel, David Goboff, and from the National Broadway Tour of “The Lion King” Jim Hammond.
We will guide you through our last 11 years and then adults and kids will be able to work hands-on to create their own puppet with all supplies provided for those who attend in person.
This workshop is recommended for ages 7 and up but for families who have younger children we will have craft activities at your socially distanced tables specifically for them.
So here are the COVID-19 details: We are only allowing up to six families/pods/educational units to join the workshop in person. a maximum of 36 people in total. Each pod will have its own table all of its own supplies provided and will be socially distanced for the entire 90 minutes. This is based on a first come first serve with a maximum of six people at your table. Tables will be over 10 feet apart from each other. To confirm your pod’s table please text your email to 954-560-1028 and let us know how many people are in your party. We will send you confirmation details. Once we are sold out we will allow “standby” options in case any of the groups do not show up. For those who attend you will also receive a backstage parking pass for one vehicle.
For those who do not make the sign-up in person, we will be hosting a virtual version. If you want to participate virtually please text your email address 29545601028 and we will email you the details of the link, supplies you need to pick up, and our design so you and your family can work create your puppet at home.
