The exhibition features photography by Dominic Lippillo, Casey McGuire, John Morris, and Mark Schoon.
“Verisimilitude” features work by Dominic Lippillo, Casey McGuire, John Morris, and Mark Schoon. The exhibition centers around photographs that explore the theme of truth and the ability of a photograph to function as a document of proof. In “Verisimilitude,” the uneasy truce/dialogue between photography and its evidentiary qualities is scrutinized.
Each artist in the exhibition presents a unique view of photography’s authoritative ability to function as a document of precise representation. The exhibit examines the scientific, cultural, and vernacular relation to truth in a variety of ways. Questions of authenticity in science, perception, and photographic realities between landscapes and figures arise in these works.
