The purpose of “What’s Your Elephant” is to provoke awareness and discussions including, but not limited to: gender, discrimination and abuse.
This hands-on creative workshop is an invitation for the participant to share an ‘elephant’ that is personal to them or a topic they want to bring awareness to.
Various art supplies and magazines are included for participants to create a piece of art based on their elephant. No prior artistic experience or skill is needed. Once the projects are complete the workshop goes into the discussion phases. Participants are encouraged to share about their work and dialogue takes place. Participants will be given the option to have their work displayed at the “Women Crossing the Line Performance Festival”.
This event is part of the “Women Crossing the Line Performance Festival,” a festival of free workshops and a culminating performance spanning March 14 through April 4, a Celebration of Women in Arts @ Broward County Libraries.
Funding for this project is provided in part by the Board of County Commissioners of Broward County, FL., as recommended by the Broward Cultural Division
