Hand Cut Paper is an exhibition by Rochel Schiffrin showing in the Back Room Gallery through January 31st.
Rochel Schiffrin is an imaginative hand cut paper artist who is driven by an incredible passion for artistic self-expression. She works in various themes such as nature, abstraction, and Judaica. Each original design is made from a single sheet of paper using an X-acto knife to meticulously cut out every shape by hand. Paper cutting not only reflects the intricate nature with which she enjoys operating in, but it also enables the expression of deeply rooted ideas and concepts.
Schiffrin designs and creates out of her home studio in Boynton Beach, Florida. She discovered her love for cutting paper and experimenting with this unique art form 10 years ago while earning her Bachelor of Arts degree.
Paper Cutting is an intuitive and natural reaction for her love of detail, care, and intricacy. As a creative technique, paper cutting is not only cathartic for the artist, but it allows her to illustrate concepts and designs that are near and dear to her heart.
