Celebrating the 10th annual anniversary for 10th Annual Florida Day of the Dead. Heather Calderón will be exhibiting present and past works with fellow local artists, LuRu, Leslie Maloff and Veronica Calderón, beginning on October 6th (opening reception during Jazz festival on River Walk at 11 AM) and ending on Nov 2nd (the big night). Come see some amazing art/artists and experience Dia de los Muertos, South Florida! Exhibition run from Oct 6th-Nov 2nd.
The theme for ‘Casa Calaca’ is brightly colored skeletons, depicting everyday life, self portraits, and characters associated with Dia de Los Muertos such as Frida Kahlo, and La Catrina. The work featured is in mediums, from oil and acrylic painting, to 2-d sculpture and paper maché/collage. The exhibition brings the viewer the art paying present homage to the Mexican Holiday, Dia de los Muertos.
