National Geographic Photography Seminar

National Geographic Photography Seminar

Presented by National Geographic Society at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale

National Geographic has been documenting the world through the lenses of its photographers' cameras for nearly 125 years. In conjunction with National Geographic Traveler magazine, photographers and editors will share their expertise in the "Mastering Travel Photography” seminar. For $105 per person, regularly $125, take part in this half-day experience. Please use discount code WEBEVENT20 to receive the discounted rate.

The event takes place Sunday, November 22, at the NSU Art Museum of Fort Lauderdale, and requires no special equipment -- just an interest in learning from professional travel photographers. Discussion topics for this seminar will include:

• An overview of the technical aspects of travel photography—shooting modes, exposure, histograms, flash, tripods, lighting techniques, exposure, and more—so you can take full advantage of your camera and maximize the impact of your images

• How to bring a sense of place to your travel photography that will communicate the essence of the place you visited for years to come

• An in-depth review of the equipment that travel photographers take on the road, and what tools you should pack for your next trip

Instructors and National Geographic photographer Dan Westergren will show you how versatility can improve your travel photos, while you develop an eye for composition and a feel for being in the right place at the right time. An experienced photographer and contributing editor for National Geographic, Westergren will share his most important tips for travel photography— from the equipment to pack before you leave to the perfect moment to snap your best photograph.
