With 200 artists and crafters, music, performing arts, fashion as art, and an urban art event, the 15th Annual Coral Springs Festival of the Art will entertain, educate, and inspire its attendees on March 16 and 17 at The Walk on University Drive.
The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is honored to be celebrating 15 years of supporting the Arts. The Festival will be held on March 16th and 17th at The Walk, and every year attracts 30,000 – 40,000 people from all over the South Florida area. This year the Festival features a professionally juried arts and crafts show with over 200 fine artisans and crafters and will once again share space with Gardenfest Coral Springs, which will showcase a wide variety of beautiful orchids, exotic plants and many native plants.
As part of this special anniversary celebration, the Festival will feature an amazing lineup of local artists and entertainers plus host several new events including Flamenco Dancers, a Wallpaper Fashion Exhibit and a literary workshop with special guest Connie Francis.
Connie Francis will be the 2019 Literary Guest Speaker at the Festival’s Literary Workshop. The Workshop will be held on Friday, March 15th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts. Ms. Francis will discuss her newly released autobiography “Among My Souvenirs – The Real Story”, which includes stories about her life including time spent with Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and Ed Sullivan. The event is free to the public, however, due to seating limitations, those wishing to attend will require a ticket from the Festival’s online registration which will begin on February 1st.
There will be two stages featuring entertainment which will include musical groups from genres ranging from Jazz to Country to Motown. And for the first time, the many styles of dance and entertainment represented at the Festival will include Flamenco Dancers. Music and dancing will be continuous throughout the weekend.
New to this year’s lineup of events is a unique exhibit called “Art as Fashion” presented by Atlantic Wallpaper. The exhibit will feature dresses made entirely of wallpaper and designed by local fashion designers. Make your way to the North Stage on Saturday the 16th from Noon to 5:00 PM to see these beautiful creations.
